Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems and concerns, as well as potential treatment options. We can provide a ten minute consultation at no charge. Please ask us about this when you schedule your appointment. Should you desire to continue after the free consultation we will proceed to the History and Examination.
In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. This will include a examination of your posture as well as general conditioning.
We do not have x-ray or MRI facilities in our office. We can usually, but not always, initiate treatment without taking either. If your specific condition requires in-depth diagnostic studies either to rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you we will refer you to nearby high quality facilities.
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies we will discuss your condition and our treatment recommendations. If appropriate and should you so choose we can begin treatment on your first visit. This may include spinal adjustments and/or soft tissue therapies.
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions. Spinal health exercises may be discussed on the first visit depending on your condition.
