Office Procedures Your first visit to our office will take about an hour. You will fill out some forms, particularly a health history questionnaire. Dr. Miñana will take a detailed history about your current condition and any prior injuries or health problems. Next we will do an orthopedic and chiropractic examination. Dr. Miñana will then discuss his findings with you and explain exactly what type of adjustments he recommends and how they will be done. You will then receive your first chiropractic adjustment. The treatment may include physiotherapy (see below) if needed. We will discuss postural and ergonomic issues that effect your condition. We may start your exercise program on the first visit or may wait for subsequent visits depending on your problem. Ongoing Visits Subsequent visits to our office will last 10 to 20 minutes. You will have a chance to discuss your progress with the doctor and you will receive your adjustment. We will also train you in performing the rehabilitative exercises that will speed your recovery and prevent future problems. |

Techniques and Other Methods Used 1. Activator. Dr. Miñana is advanced proficiency certified in Activator Technique, a gentle and effective light force instrument. Most adjustments are performed with the Activator. 2. Flexion/distraction. A electrically-powered traction table puts the spine in motion, opens spinal joints and allows the doctor to stretch contracted muscles and mobilize fixated joints. 3. Trigger Point Therapy (deep tissue therapy). Deep pressure to relax tight muscles and break up knots or trigger points in the muscles. 4. Spinal Molding. A cervical traction device called the Posture Pump or foam blocks are used to accelerate changes in posture and adds a powerful element to your treatment program.
Dr. Miñana believes that exercise is essential for a healthy, stable spine and for general health. He will show you the exercises he wants you to do and you can practice them in the office. You will receive diagrams or photos for nearly all exercises. You can also discuss with him other exercise you are doing or would like to. You and the doctor will work together you get you in shape! |
